Wincenty, born wild... to be lazy |
![]() |
This cat's name is Wincenty Pretor
- in short, Wicek. We have managed to recognize him as European breed with wild-looking
fur, with black stripes and spots (the picture on the left presents the bottom side of the
cat which is useful for fondling - but this privilege is not granted to everybody).
According to his human, Wincenty's colour and temper indicate that the cat may have some
gens of a wildcat (felis silvestris). Born in the mountains, he is quite hot-headed. He was born somewhere in forests on the Poprad river about 7 years ago. He was promoted from a simple wild kitten to a Coach Cat; from swimming in cold water of the Poprad river to flights from a balkony on sixth floor, pursuing birds (this is a kind of hobby). |
| In the city he has taken over the
area of the whole apartment with special stress on beds and freshly washed bed clothes. He
used to make sightseeing trips in a backpack but resigned when he found that there was
nothing more beautiful than sleeping in warm apartment on laps of a human and a bowl full
of food. His human believes that Wincenty calms nerves of people living with him due to air ionization and hypnotic purring. In fact, this effect is not specific only for Wincenty. On this picture the cat checks his weight (but why the weight is under a dog?). At that time Wicek weighted only three kilos; today over five. |

This
picture is entitled 'Is it true that mice live in flower-pots?'.
When somebody comes and calls from a front door using an internal telephone, Wicek awaits him / her near the apartment's door (unless he sleeps verrrrry soundly) and gets up if the elevator door is open. He is extremely disenchanted if somebody rings and does not come. This seems illogical for him - and humans have to explain to him that nobody is coming. He differentiates sounds of the internal telephone and the regular one (they are similar), contrary to the humans. By the way - he does not use the phone (the phone provides no caresses, unfortunately). P.S. Everything has its end. Wincenty ended his life (we hope - one of many lives cats have) on 23 July 1999. Bye, Wicek! We will miss you. |
